Molding Cycle Time Breakdown

Add measured molding phases together while making the hold and cooling overlap explicit.

Example starting values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with your measured, quoted, or job-specific inputs before relying on a result.

Inputs

Cycle trace phase inputs

Range: at least 0 s

Elapsed fill/injection phase from the machine cycle trace.

Range: at least 0 s

Elapsed hold/pack phase. If cooling duration is entered as total time after fill, choose that convention below so this phase is not added twice.

Range: at least 0 s

Enter either cooling after hold or total cooling after fill, as specified in the next field.

Match the phase timestamps in the machine cycle trace. In the includes-hold case, elapsed post-fill time is max(hold, cooling), not hold + cooling.

Range: at least 0 s

Elapsed portion of the cycle not already included in injection/hold/cooling timing. Do not enter concurrent time twice.

Timing convention
Total elapsed cycle = injection/fill + mold-open/eject/close + post-fill interval. If cooling is additional after hold, post-fill interval = hold + cooling. If cooling already includes hold, post-fill interval = max(hold, cooling). The selected convention must match machine trace phase timestamps; concurrent phases must not be summed twice.
