Colorant / Masterbatch Dosage Calculator

Work out how much masterbatch to add to a resin batch using the supplier dosage basis you select.

Example starting values are prefilled to demonstrate the calculation. Replace them with your measured, quoted, or job-specific inputs before relying on a result.

Inputs

Batch and supplier dosage inputs

Range: at least 0.0

Mass of virgin carrier resin before adding concentrate. Enter in the selected unit.

Defaults to lb; results are reported in lb and oz.

Range: 0–100 %

Enter the supplier-stated percentage. For final-blend basis, 100% is mathematically undefined with positive carrier resin.

Match the resin supplier’s TDS or dosing instruction. The two conventions produce different additive mass.

Dosage convention and limitation
Add-on basis means additive mass / carrier resin mass. Final-blend basis means additive mass / (carrier resin mass + additive mass). Use the supplier-stated convention and confirm the dosage before production; this result does not prescribe a colorant loading.
